Do you attract products that claim to increase penis size? Get information on what to expect from male enhancement pills, pumps, exercises and surgeries.
Product announcements and procedures to enlarge the penis are everywhere. A large number of pumps, pills, weights, exercises and surgeries claim that they increase the length and width of the penis.
However, there is little scientific support for non-surgical methods of penis enlargement. No accredited medical organization supports penile surgery for purely aesthetic reasons.
Most of the techniques you see advertised are ineffective and some can damage the penis. Think twice before trying any of them.
Penis size: What is normal, what is not?
It is common to fear that your penis is too small or too small to satisfy your partner during sexual intercourse. But studies have shown that most men who think their bars are too small are actually life-size atoms.
Similarly, studies show that many men have an exaggerated idea about “normal” penis size.
The length of an erect penis does not consistently predict the length when the penis is erect. If your penis measures approximately 13 cm (5 inches) or more during erection, its size will be normal.
The penis is considered abnormally small only if its size is less than 3 inches (approximately 7.5 cm) after erection, a condition called micropenis.
How partners see penis size
Will advertisers believe that their partner is very interested in penis size? If you are worried, talk to your partner.
Keep in mind that understanding your partner’s needs and desires will likely improve your sexual relationship by changing the size of your penis.
Companies offer many types of non-surgical treatments for penis enlargement and often promote them with attractive advertisements that include approvals from “scientific” researchers.
Look closely: you will see that the safety and effectiveness claims have not been proven.
Marketing specialists rely on certificates, biased statements and questionable images before and after. Supplements do not require FDA approval, so manufacturers do not have to demonstrate safety or effectiveness.
Penis enlargement products
Most penis enlargement methods announced are ineffective, and some can cause permanent damage to the penis. The following are some of the products and technologies that are widely promoted:
- Pills and lotions. These usually contain vitamins, minerals, herbs or hormones that manufacturers enlarge the penis. None of these products have proven successful, and some can be harmful.
Bomb of void. Because the pumps attract blood to the penis and swell it, they are sometimes used to treat erectile dysfunction.
- The vacuum pump can make the penis appear temporarily larger. But using one more often or for a long time can damage the elastic tissue of the penis and cause a less rigid erection.
- Exercises These exercises are sometimes used, which are called jelqing, hand-delivered movement to push blood from the base to the head of the penis.
- Although this technique seems safer than other methods, there is no scientific evidence that it works, and it can cause scars, pain and deformities.
- Stretching Stretching involves attaching a stretcher or an extended device, also known as a penile traction device, to the penis for gentle tension.
Some small studies have reported an increase in the length of half an inch to approximately 2 inches (approximately 1 to 3 centimeters) with these devices.
More and more rigorous research is needed to demonstrate safety and effectiveness.
Surgery is risky and may not work.
Studies on available surgical techniques for penis enlargement have found mixed results in patient safety, efficacy and satisfaction.
In the best case, surgery, such as suspended ligament division, can add half an inch (one centimeter) to the appearance of the flaccid penis, but does not change the actual length of the penis. In the worst case, surgery can cause complications such as infection, scarring and loss of sensation or function.
Surgical methods to enlarge the penis: not for cosmetic use
The need for penis enlargement surgery is rare. The surgery is usually for men whose rods do not work normally due to a defect or injury.
Although some surgeons offer cosmetic penis enlargement using different methods, it is controversial and many consider it unnecessary and, in some cases, always harmful. These surgeries should be considered experimental. There are not enough studies on penis enlargement surgery to give an accurate picture of the risks and benefits.
The most commonly used surgery to lengthen the penis is to cut the suspensory ligament that connects the penis with the pubic bone and moves the skin from the abdomen to the trunk of the penis. When this ligament is cut, the penis appears longer because much of it hangs.
But cutting the suspensory ligament can cause penile erection. The suspensory ligament pieces are sometimes combined with other procedures, such as removing excess fat in the pubic bone.
The procedure to increase penis thickness involves taking fat from a fleshy part of the body and injecting it into the spine of the penis. However, the results can be disappointing, since the body can absorb some injected fat. This can lead to curvature or asymmetry of the penis and an irregularly looking penis.
Another method to increase the width is to graft the tissues in the trunk of the penis. None of these procedures have proven safe or effective and can affect their effectiveness and ability to achieve an erection.
Some things that could really help
Although there is no safe and effective method to enlarge the penis, there are some things you can do if you are interested in penis size.
- Communicate with your partner. It can be difficult to break old habits or discuss sexual preferences with your partner. But you will be happy and you will be surprised by the spark that ignites it in your sex life.
Get fit and lose abdominal fat. If you are overweight and have a “beer gut,” your penis may look shorter than it is.
- Exercise can make a big difference. Better fitness can not only make you look better, but it can also improve strength and endurance during sexual intercourse.
- Talk to your doctor or counselor. Feeling dissatisfied with penis size is common. A certified counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist or family doctor can help.
Many men feel better with the assurance that they are “natural” or with advice on how to better please their partner without resorting to cosmetic penis enlargement.
The final result
Many men believe that increasing penis size will make them better lovers or make them more attractive. But most likely, the penis is within the normal size range.
Even if the penis is smaller than average, your partner may not matter. In addition, there is no proven method to enlarge the penis.
Solving your concerns about penis size can be as easy as talking to your partner or getting fit. If these steps do not help, try talking to a professional counselor about your concerns.
